When the Weight of the World Is on Your Shoulders

There’s a kind of weight women carry that isn’t always seen.
It’s in the carpool line.
It’s in the grocery store checkout.
It’s in the quiet moments when everyone else is asleep.
It’s the weight of the world—and we carry it with grace, grit, and just enough faith to whisper,“Lord, help me keep going.”
That’s why I love Speak Joy.
This isn’t just another nonprofit—it’s a beacon of hope for those in our community and it's a favorite of mine! Speak Joy steps in when life is heavy and hope feels far away. It connects people to people, brings encouragement to the discouraged, and—more than anything—it reminds women that God sees them.
Let me introduce you to Angela.
She’s a mom of three boys, works full-time for the city, and commited to Bible study. Oh—and she also went back to school and is crushing it with straight A’s. She’s strong, determined, and on fire for the Lord.
But recently, her car broke down.
And if you’ve ever had everything mapped out—your time, your energy, your faith—and then one thing goes wrong, you know how quickly everything can unravel.
But Angela didn’t give up.
“God is our refuge and strength,an ever-present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
She keeps going.
Keeps believing.
Keeps trusting that God will make a way.
And that’s where Speak Joy comes in—again.
Right now, Speak Joy hopes to stand in the gap for Angela.
Maybe that looks like connecting her with a mechanic, giving financially, or—hey—maybe someone reading this is in a position to donate a car. (Ask and ye shall receive, right? 😉)
And you can be part of it.
Whether you give your time, talent, treasure—or prayer—there’s a place for you in this story. There’s a place for you in Speak Joy.
Angela’s story isn’t over. Neither is yours.
And the truth is—someone out there is waiting on a miracle.
Maybe today, you are that miracle.
