When All Hell Breaks Loose...

Warfare.
It’s doesn’t always show up as fire from the sky.
Sometimes it’s spilled coffee on your only clean shirt.
A flat tire on the way to worship.
A gut-punch comment from someone you love—moments before you’re about to go be a light for someone else.
It’s like the enemy checks your calendar too—and circles the same dates as God.
You say yes to something for God.
You are out of your comfort zone.
You take a step toward obedience.
You get ready to bless someone in Jesus’ name…
And all hell breaks loose.
At first, I didn’t recognize the pattern.
In the early days of my walk with Jesus, I chalked it up to stress or bad luck.
But as I began to grow in truth…
As I stepped deeper into ministry and started producing Christian events…
As I said yes to the things of God and led others toward Him…
I began to see it clearly.
The attacks weren’t random. They were strategic.
They came right before the breakthrough.
Right before the blessing.
Right before someone else would hear about hope.
Let me give you a glimpse.
My daughter and I were headed to the Harvest Crusade—thousands were gathering at Angel Stadium, and we were helping carry the event on our radio stations. Minutes before leaving, she crashed her bike into a light pole. Scraped, shaking, nearly broken. But that girl rallied. The enemy tried to stop us from working—but God made sure we got there.
Then there was Fishfest. I was in charge of it all—the entire event, our team, the day. On my way there, in my brand-new car (no plates yet!), I was rear-ended and totaled. Adrenaline masked the pain, and I made to the concert venue. Someone looked at me and said, “How are you even standing here right now?”I smiled and thought, But did I die?
The devil tried to take me out—but God brought me in.
Most recently, on the day I was scheduled to speak at a women’s night out, I woke up to find my sweet dog hemorrhaging. It was clear—we had to say goodbye. I was heartbroken. Late. And still somehow had to produce the concert and prepare to speak from the stage. The topic was finding joy in heartache. Go figure!
A grief counselor met me at the door.
My team picked up the slack.
And then I found out—the lead pastor’s wife was in the crowd. Her husband had passed away just days earlier.
She came searching for light. Reaching for joy.
And in that moment, I realized:
My brokenness had made space for someone else’s healing.
The devil tried to silence the messenger—But God still delivered the message.
And it's not just events—it’s our marriages and families that are under attack too.
Have you ever noticed how the tension rises just before church?
Or how the moment you start praying together, your phone rings or your email pings?
Or how the enemy plants tiny seeds of bitterness, business, or distraction… right when youtry to pursue God?
He doesn’t want your home to be a sanctuary.
He loves turmoil.
Squabbling.
Division.
He wants it to be a battleground.
But friends, God never asked us to fight the war on our own.
“Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” — Ephesians 6:13
For years, I didn’t get that. I’d throw myself into battle like a wild woman—fighting in my own strength, over-functioning, overreacting, over-everything.
All in the name of Jesus and with scripture tucked in my heart. My intentions were good. But I was going about it wrong.
But now?
Now, I know better.
Now, I suit up.
I pick up my sword.
I pray in the Spirit.
And I stand firm.
Because the battle isn’t mine—it’s the Lord’s.
So if everything’s unraveling on the morning of your breakthrough—If your kids are acting up, your relationships are strained, and your spirit feels heavy—If you’re about to serve, speak, or show up in the name of Jesus and chaos starts swirling…
Suit up.
Stand firm.
And remember...
But God.
